Excerpts from ascetic Hesychast Holy Fathers compiled by Elder Vasilii (d. 1764) as his own type of Philokalia. Includes texts by Gregory Sinaites, Philotheus of Sinai, Cassian the Roman, Basil the Great, Isaac the Syrian, Macarius of Egypt, Callistus Xanthopolus, Theodore of Edessa, Nil Sorskii's "Instructions", Dmytro Tuptalo's (Dimitriǐ Rostovski) "Instructions and homilies", Nikofor the Monk. Excerpts from homilies from the "Tisavros" and synxarion in verse. Inscription on leaf 327a, the foreword to the manuscript was written by the Elder Vasilii, who compiled the work in his kelion in Ugro-Wallachia. He passed away April 1767. On leaf 303a, "copied from a manuscript on Holy Mountain and not from a Greek manuscript." Ornamented vignettes and headings. The manuscript was copied in the 18th cent. after 1767.
